    Abbey Lincoln was a jazz singer, actress and civil rights activist. What a classy beauty she was. Often referred to as the black Marilyn Monroe in the fifties and sixties. She was heavily influenced by Billy Holiday. When she married drummer Max Roach her muic took on a more political edge. She starred with Sidney Poitier in the movie For Love Of Ivy (1968). She died in August 2010 at the age of 80. Abbey we'll continue to remember you.
