London Fashion Week Colour Trends - Purple Reign

The beginning of London Fashion Week saw smatterings of Purple here and there. But once Christopher Kane took the colour and worked it into yet another of his amazing collections, you knew it was going to stick.

And then, as if to cement things, Prada rocked the colour in Milan. Muiccia took the shades Lilac, Violet and Royal Purple, embedding them in strong geometric patterns and encrusted embellishment. And as we all know...what Miuccia says, goes!




Then to Paris, where Mr. Lagerfeld literally took inspiration from Amethysts by creating a setting of giant stalagmite crystals...


Following suit in both Milan and Paris.

Decadence in a (giant) bottle

I didn’t think it was possible for Chanel No5 to become any more decadent. That was until I saw this giant £3000 bottle, currently in the windows of Harrods (and yes, it does hold the actual perfume!). Thinking about the logistical problems of buying/ owning a bottle of this size blows my mind. But I guess when you have money to buy a £3000 bottle of perfume, you can pay people to solve that for you!

Paradoxal

I am a sucker for a good nail varnish, so when the new AW10 Chanel colour Paradoxal launched yesterday I hotfooted it straight to Selfridges. When applied, it has a gorgeous grey/violet hue with a subtle sparkly shimmer as the light hits it. Although this isn't limited addition I recommend you buy it quick, as no doubt the first batch will be sold out by the end of the weekend!

Red Shoes

I am currently watching Hans Christian Andersen's The Red Shoes on my commute into work (on the trusty iphone) and it has given me a real craving for a pair all of my own. Here are my pick of the bunch on the high street at the moment….

But the pair that I have really been lusting after since the SS10 shows last October, are the Chanel red clogs... now only available on ebay for crazy money, but still a feature on my wall of want!
