Naked cycling hits London Streets!

Now this is a great way to protest! The global event, hits London's streets this weekend to highlight the perils of oil dependency and car culture, as well as celebrating the glorious bicycle... all by getting naked! oh yes, i said naked! Now it may seem a bit pervy but i think the prospect of seeing over 1000 naked cyclists sounds very amusing. If you are with me and want more info (or fancy getting your kit off for a good cause), then check out the World Naked Bike Ride site.

So when you're out and about this Saturday, if you see a bunch of naked cyclists, do not be alarmed! They are not crazy...well scrap that, they must be pretty bonkers to get their kit off and straddle a bike with no protection! But hey, i admire their dedication and courage.

Being a huge Queen fan, i thought this video would be a great way of illustrating the post. WARNING - naked ladies throughout...enjoy!

Sartorial Cyclists on Savile Row...

What with my current bike obsession, I decided to dig up some photos from a surreal experience whilst shopping in April. Well, I was standing on the corner of Savile Row, minding my own business, when a huge crowd of eccentric cyclists whizzed past in the finest vintage clothes, tipping their hats at the gawping crowd as they went. It was over in a flash and to this day I am still not sure what it was all about (let me know if you do), but it made for some excellent snaps!

Bike envy pt2...

So, I am still in a bike frenzy and have spotted even more beauties on my travels, worthy of a second post. Don’t you just love the purple bike with the burger bell…?

Bike Envy

I couldn't help but notice all the gorgeous bikes around town this summer... making me want one of my very own. I am already dreaming up my cycling outfits! Although, I am sure the lust will pass as winter kicks in!

Boris' Bikes

Whether you love him or hate him, you’ve got to give a big thumbs-up to Bozza's new bike scheme. So far reviews from registered members have been pretty positive (casual users will be able to enjoy the ride soon, so keep an eye on the TFL website for user guides). Sure there have been a few niggles but I think this is a grand idea, which will make quick journeys around town a lot more fun. Not sure if I'm brave enough to navigate London traffic just yet but I will definitely be making use of them to zip around the south bank at weekends…will make carrying my veg from borough market all the more easier! Check out the docking stations and start planning some trips thanks to this fab googlemap by Time Out.
